Amazon SES sandbox
Definition
The Amazon SES sandbox is the restricted default state of a new SES account, in which messages can only be sent to verified addresses and daily volume is capped until AWS grants production access.
Thresholds
| Sandbox daily cap | 200 messages / 24 hours |
|---|---|
| Sandbox send rate | 1 message / second |
| Typical approval time | under 24 hours |
Why it matters
The sandbox is the most common reason a first SES campaign appears to send but reaches nobody. AeroCampaign detects sandbox status on connect and blocks broadcasts rather than letting them fail silently.
